Editorial B&W portrait — Ricky Gordon
A letter from the editor

I’m Ricky. Every match on Savvoo has my name on it.

I’ve spent fifteen years reviewing consumer tech — for The Guardian, T3, and one publication I’d rather not name — and the last three years running refurbishment diagnostics for a US retailer, taking the back off devices that the website had already called “like new”.

Savvoo exists because the refurbished-tech market is roughly two-thirds bargain, one-third trap, and the usual comparison sites can’t tell you which is which. I can. Every match on this site has my name on it — and if one goes wrong, I want to hear from you. That’s not a tagline, it’s an email address.
